Home Learning Pack 11.05.20

Please find below this weeks home learning pack:

Summer 1 - Week 4
Would Peter Rabbit like to live at Sutton Lawn…?

This week we will carry on with our learning about plants and growth. We will be learning about different types of trees and finding out how some trees are 'deciduous' and some are 'evergreen'. We will also try and make our own seed packet.
We will be reading the story ‘Rabbit Problem’ again and helping Lonely Rabbit to write instructions for planting carrots. We will also read a story called ‘Leek Hotpot’.
We have put together a collection of activities for you to do for week 4 of our new topic while you are away from school.
Please have fun completing them with your grown ups at home.
Don’t forget to keep reading on the Oxford Owls website and recording it in your reading diaries and playing on our new Numbots games!

Year 1 Maths Homework

This week we are working on subtraction number facts to 10.

E.g. 10—0 = 10

10—1 = 9

10—2 = 8

10—3 = 7

10—4 = 6

10– 5 = 5

Can you use number bonds as the inverse operation?

Year 1 Spelling Homework

This week, we are looking at different ways of spelling /igh/.

Use the words in sentences.

These words are also used in the games on rule 24.

English - The Rabbit Problem

In 'The Rabbit Problem'  the rabbits decide to grow some  carrots.  We are going to write some instructions for how to plant carrot seeds.

This week we are reading the story Leek Hotpot - remember to use your phonics to help you. Read the story with someone at home. Match the words which rhyme and answer questions about the story.

There is also a poem about rainbows with some questions to answer, along with some Letters and Sounds and handwriting practise.
