French Day

During the summer term KS2 took part in a 'French Day'.

The aim of this day was to revise key vocabulary, encourage the children to speak French and learn more about the country and culture. The day consisted of a range of activities and included tasting some famous French foods. Such as; baguettes with ham, cheese or jam and fruit and an assortment of French themed snacks consisting of croissant or pain au chocolat and macaroons. The children also came to school wearing red, white and blue clothing and/or accessories for the day.

The day also consisted of a variety of French based activities, such as, French puzzles and games and role play activities- including a scene asking for food in a restaurant. Year 6 pupils in particular loved the experience and said it was great to explore another countries' language and culture for a day!

Some year 6's enjoying French Day!
