World Book Day
Year 1
We had so much fun in Year 1 on World Book Day! Our focus text was 'Dogger', so we wore our casual clothes like the main character 'Dave' and we brought our favourite teddy to school, because the story is about Dave's favourite toy called 'Dogger'.
Year 2
We have had so much fun in Year 2! Our text was Little Evie in the Wild Wood and we all loved dressing up as characters from the book. During the day we discussed our favourite stories, read books and talked about our favourite places to read. We created Wolf masks and then used our knowledge of Little Evie in the Wild Wood to create a ‘book in a box’.
Year 3
For world book day, we had the pleasure to visit the library! What a great way to spend world book day!
We dressed up in bright clothes to represent flowers from our English book of 'The Flower' by John Light. We enjoyed making our display for the exhibition in the hall for the whole school to see, we even made pipe cleaner flowers to put on our display.
Year 6
We have had a fab world book day in 6AM today. We have worked in groups to create exhibition pieces on Goodnight Mister Tom.The children had to include information on the author, the characters, the plot and also their opinions. We also created human exhibits too - where they either studied a character from the story in depth, created a story road map or expressed their group’s opinions and created a human book review. We have had a great time sharing our work in the whole school exhibition this afternoon.
